Mastery – Personal Development & Leadership Goals

As I come to the end of my first Digital Marketing Certificate course, I’d like to reflect on the items I’ve learned and how this course will help contribute to my overall marketing goals.

In Digital Marketing Fundamentals, I’ve learned about what metrics to track for comparing a competitor’s website to your business site. Many tools are available to help track SEO, Alt Tags for images, website optimization, and more. A few of these options are outlined below:

• Website Keyword Crawling: https://app.wordstream.com/fkt/app
• Website Grader: https://website.grader.com/
• Page Load Time Checker: https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/insights/
• Local Search Checker: https://moz.com/checkout/local/check

In addition to learning about comparing websites, I have also gained an understanding of how companies use retargeting, steps for preventing click fraud, and what information to use for researching a company’s digital marketing practices.

The information I have learned in this course will help me get a better understanding of how to create profiles for breweries and other companies in the beer industry. I can also use this information to build my business strategy for marketing myself to various breweries in the area.

During week 4, I began planning my Personal Knowledge Management system. This will help me keep track of my course progress and help manage my workload. Some of the main resources I’ll be using for this will be Trello and Evernote.

I look forward to learning more in the coming months. Up next is New Media Marketing, where I will gain a better understanding of how businesses engage influencers in the target market using mobile, social media, content marketing, online video, and location-based technologies, as stated at https://www.fullsail.edu/courses/imk522-new-media-marketing?degree=digital-marketing-graduate-certificate&type=online.
